Approval of Minutes.  The minutes of the February 19, 2002 meeting were approved as distributed.

Report of the Academic Standards Committee.  Committee Chair David Gray presented a proposal to eliminate provision (b) of the Residency Requirements listed in the Undergraduate Catalog.  The provision to be deleted is worded: “Each candidate for a degree must complete and receive credit in residence for (b) at least 24 of the last 30 semester hours required for a bachelor’s degree.”  The reason for eliminating this provision (b) stems from course/program offerings at McLennan Community College in Waco and any electronically delivered courses/programs.  Students in these programs cannot fully meet current residency requirements.  The elimination of this provision would be applicable to the entire student population.  The other two provisions as stated in the catalog would remain in place.  The Assembly approved this proposal.
