7 Commencement exercises for Summer Term (all sessions) Aug 8-11 Gunnip pointed out that the Martin Luther King holiday is late in 2008. The Spring semester will be in session for a week and then break for the holiday. He also
noted that Spring Break, March 10-14, is scheduled for the same week as the
break for UT Austin and Since a new
law requires that Texas K-12 public school districts begin their classes no
earlier than the fourth Monday in August, they will be finishing up at the end
of the first week of June. This will
prevent teachers from attending the first and 11 week summer sessions which
begin May 27. Gunnip said he will work
with the The calendar was approved as submitted. Other Business. Provost Dunn announced that the compliance report for the ten-year SACS reaffirmation has been submitted. This was a monumental undertaking spearheaded out of the office of Institutional Research and Planning under the direction of Pam Haws. Many people on campus played critical roles through the committees she constituted in terms of preparing it. Thanks to all those individuals. The document is available on the web, complete with links to hundreds of documents that are our various policies and procedures They did a wonderful job and it is a good policy document that will be a useful resource for us.
